Intimate atmospheres, such as dining areas like this beautifully crafted booth at Hakkasan in Mumbai, are ideal environments for wallwash effects . Firefly Lighting Design utilized Mirage wallwashers to graze and accentuate the exsquisite wall textures and colors, as well as provide soft ambient lighting for dinner guests.
Environments where lighting solutions must draw minimal attention to themselves are well suited to Lucifer Lighting products. L’Observatoire International enlisted DL1ZP downlights to serve quiet duty in the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City, taking nothing away from the intriguing atmosphere created by the intersecting slopes and angles of the room.
A rustic, western theme helps set the tables in Aspen at the St. Regis Resort. To illuminate wall paintings, Sean O’Connor Lighting Design specified DL62ZP LEDX 45° adjustable downlights, which also benefit dining rooms like this where tables may change location. Rich colors and textures in the leather seating and floral centerpieces are rendered brilliantly under LEDX lighting.
Details, colors and textures abound in this bold private residence. Warm wood tones contrast sharply with white walls and industrial, orange and gray metal panels. Lighting designer Attila Uysal accented the wood ceiling with white DL61ZP downlights that echo the wall tones and provide abundant lighting from their wide apertures.
PointOfView needed luminaires small enough to install within alcoves that accent the designer wall and line this stairway at Saffire Resort in Freycinet, Tasmania. 3W PukLEDs provide ample illumination to guide guests down stairs to the dining room and create ambient glowing pockets of light in the wall.
Corporate environments need not sacrifice light quality for energy-efficiency, as proven by this seating area inside the headquarters of a global insurance company. Giving the punch of a 50W MR-16 halogen with only a fraction of the power at 18W, DL31ZP LEDX fixed downlights were chosen by Kugler Ning Lighting Design to integrate perfectly into the angular ceiling design and provide accurate 80+ CRI color rendering.
Downlights are custom painted and installed zero-sightline to match the ceiling of this elegant corridor connecting main buildings of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. DL1ZP fixed pinhole downlights disappear into the ceiling leaving only rows of light stretching into the distantace, and arranged by Tillotson Design Associates to amplify the long, linear feel of the corridor.
A feast for the eyes: bold patterns, shapes and colors create a truly unique lobby area in Manhattan’s The Standard Hotel. Black DL2RZP pinhole adjustable downlights all but vanish into the mirror like ceiling of the Romand and Williams designed interior, and are also discretely installed for task lighting in the hanging, stone-like structures above twin, opposing front desks.
Natural wood ceilings are uninterrupted by custom painted DL38ZP downlights that illuminate this great room opening to a serene lake view in the Seattle area. Zero-sightline flush installation with the luminaires’ adjustable tilt and rotation enabled Brian Hood Lighting Design to put light exactly where they needed it without impacting the asthetics of the room.
